Frankfurt a. M. / Lingen, 15th March 2011 – A new shaving and cosmetic mirror series specially designed to meet requirements in modern, comfortable bathrooms was presented by Emco Bad at the ISH 2011 in Frankfurt. With this the manufacturer has partly repositioned and at the same time rationally completed its comprehensive product range in this segment. To be able to respond selectively to current market requirements, the new series was developed in close collaboration with customers. The result is seven models which combine an attractive, stylish design with easy-care materials, long-lasting functionality, toughness and durability. Unrestricted user comfort in private bathrooms, hotels, care institutions, office buildings, restaurants and public buildings is thus lastingly ensured. The series features four different models fitted with energy-efficient, dazzlefree LED lighting and three unilluminated variants. High detail accuracy is ensured by mirroring on both sides for threefold and sevenfold magnification.
All the models have round mirror surfaces, which, with a diameter of 200 mm, guarantee generous viewing conditions. The desired magnification is selected simply by turning the cosmetic mirror horizontally through 180°. Each mirror element is fastened to a 135 to 180 mm (depending on the variant) long flex-arm made from chromium-plated brass. An integrated high-quality stainless steel spiral ensures that the entire cosmetic mirror can be easily tilted in any direction yet still remain stably in the set position. On the illuminated models energy-efficient, long-life high-power LED technology having a power requirement of only 6 watts is used. Two light elements running along the side edges of the mirror surface provide a dazzle-free, even illumination of the mirror image.
Both an illuminated and an unilluminated model fitted with a stand are available, enabling the cosmetic mirror to be freely stood in any desired place. Also included in the product range are illuminated and unilluminated variants, each with two different wall fastenings. Here the manufacturer is one of the first companies in the market to offer an innovative solution with sliding height adjustment. The cosmetic mirror is inserted into a stylishly designed, chromium-plated rail and mounted on the wall. An integrated holding mechanism ensures that the mirror can be easily and uncomplicatedly repositioned in the 400 mm long rail strip at the touch of a button. Mirrors with a static wall holder are also available. The power for the illuminated model is supplied here either direct from the wall without a visible cord connection or, as on the stand and height-adjustable variant, with the aid of a black spiral cord and a wall-plug mains adapter. This last is for use in existing or renovated bathrooms where a power connection direct via the wall holder is often not possible.
An exchangeable plug element and automatic voltage detector between 100 and 240 V enable the cosmetic mirrors to be used in all foreign markets. The wall-plug mains adapter also contains a transformer to convert the available operating voltage – which in Germany is uniformly 230 V – to a 12 V low voltage. This, says the company, is to prevent possible injury in the event of a defect, as low voltage is considered harmless to humans and animals coming into contact with it.
