With numerous new products and further-developments Emco Klima is, on the occasion of the ISH 2011 in Frankfurt, completing its comprehensive product range for the realisation of energy-efficient solutions to comfort air conditioning requirements.

Successful business development with marked increase in sales revenue / Complete product range for room air conditioning to VDI 3804 / Multi-product, multi-functional control system realises system concept conditioning / Compact floor ventilation unit for efficient comfort air conditioning / Cabinet-type convectors complete system range / High-performance facade ventilation unit with low noise emissions

Frankfurt a. M. / Lingen, 15th March 2011 – Emco Klima returned a positive result for the 2010 financial year on the occasion of the ISH 2010 in Frankfurt. The manufacturer of high-quality ventilation and air conditioning component assemblies for operation in floor, wall and ceiling finished the year with a marked, two-digit percentage growth in sales. The excellent result is due mainly to a strong increase in the volume of sales of water-conducting room air conditioning component assemblies. The company also returned increases particularly in the cooling ceiling system and convector product groups, says managing director Helmuth Weiss. The reason for this is, amongst others, the rise in the number of reconstruction projects where the installation of air-conducting systems was not possible because of insufficient space capacity for the required distribution ducts. At the same time the Lingen-based manufacturer believes that the positive business performance is confirmation that it is on the right lines with its strategic alignment, customer-focused market orientation and broadly based product range.

Moreover, in 2010 the demand for energetically rational, integrated systems already markedly increased and will continue to do so in the current year. For this the company offers with its comprehensive product range all the necessary component assemblies for heating, cooling, ventilating and filtration. This enables, amongst other things, all the system combinations set out in VDI 3804 to be completely realised by a single supplier. The guideline particularly groups together typical example systems for the air conditioning of office buildings and thus defines the state of the technology in this area of application. Here commonly available ventilation and air conditioning concepts, from simple window ventilation through classic central systems to decentral air conditioning, are looked at comparatively for the first time. With the four product groups emcoair, emcotherm, emcovent and emcocool the Lingen-based manufacturer covers the entire spectrum of VDI 3804, a circumstance which enables it to give its customers the best possible support independently of the chosen solution. At the same time the company not only competently assists with the planning and layout of the system but also guarantees on the basis of comprehensive tests and simulations carried out in its own air conditioning laboratory that all the component assemblies work together optimally.

As the basis for the combination of the various component assemblies into an energy-efficient comfort air conditioning system, the manufacturer presented the new multi-functional emco MFR control system. The newly developed control concept enables all the manufacturer’s products to be activated both singly and in combination. The same control unit can also be used for all systems without further adaptation of the hardware. Moreover, the free configurability of the numerous analog and digital in- and outputs facilitates the realisation of tailor-made special solutions. A wide range of functions, the ability to integrate special control functions and numerous interfaces for connection to the building central control system ensure optimum coordination of the control concept to provide for the respective customer requirement profiles and high control comfort. The company is thus one of the first manufacturers in the market to offer very high flexibility in the realisation of integrated, building-oriented room air conditioning concepts as recommended in VDI 3804 for office buildings.

Furthermore, the manufacturer has presented a new decentral floor ventilation unit for efficient, controllable comfort air conditioning. The emcovent UZA was developed for the ventilation and temperature-regulation of rooms in adherence to comfort criteria and comprises for this all the necessary component assemblies for ventilation and heating, cooling and filtration. An integrated heat recoverer with an efficiency of up to 60 % markedly reduces the amount of energy needed for regulation of the room temperature. The air is delivered at a rate of up to 180 m3/h by two control-coupled EC ventilators, which are outstanding, particularly in the part-load range, for their highly efficient operating method. Moreover, a modular construction and an easily removable, particularly narrow grill cover make the work of maintenance and repair considerably easier. At the same time the unit, which is intended for installation in double floors, is, for all its wide range of functions, very compactly dimensioned. The system is thus very suitable for space-saving installation in both new builds and reconstructions and so makes possible great flexibility in architectural facade and interior design.

With its emcotherm BK cabinet-type convectors the company also presented a completely new product group, thus completing its own range in the area of water-conducting systems for heating, cooling and ventilation. Altogether three convector types for new builds and modernisations in the residential and commercial sector were presented. Their main features are the large number of unit variants, slim design and delivery ready for easy, cost-saving installation. The new cabinet-type convectors can be used in a 2- or 4-wire system for heating and cooling in free and forced convection mode with secondary air. Type BKE units stand out for their high performance and wide range of possible applications. The type BK2 unit delivers an especially high heating capacity in free-convection mode. Highest standards of design and material are met by the BKF cabinet-type convector. This is designed for operation in areas where the greatest importance is attached to an attractive look and high air-conditioning comfort. Moreover, a uniform, network-compatible control system in 3 configuration variants, basic, medium and large, is offered for all three cabinet-type convector types.

The manufacturer also unveiled a new emcovent facade ventilation unit for energy-efficient and sound-proofed ventilation. The newly developed type FLH delivers a high air capacity of up to 180 m³/h, so the required air exchange can be ensured even in areas of heavy use, such as classrooms or training areas, using just a few units. At the same time the products are outstanding for their very low sound power level from 30 dB(A) and are therefore, says the manufacturer, among the quietest units in the market. A heat recovery level of up to 60 % and series-type EC fan technology ensure high energy efficiency. Because of the modular construction and flexible arrangement of the air holes the compact unit can be integrated variably into nearly every facade, whether on a new build or a modernisation. Complete thermal separation of the inside and outside area by the high-quality housing counteracts transmission losses. Furthermore, the unit complies with current hygiene standards in compliance with VDI 6022.
