Architecture in Italy to emphasise and reflect the natural beauty of the mountains: in the 1960s, a traditional farmhouse stood here, not far from the small Italian town of Bolzano in Italy. Today, in the same location in the middle of the Dolomites in the South Tyrol, there is a unique building, which blends in with the beauty of the surrounding natural scenery and mountains thanks to a mirrored façade. Architect Peter Pichler designed the Mirror Houses as holiday homes for nature lovers with an interest in architecture. Rather than interfering with the natural, mountainous surroundings, the buildings constantly reflect them in complete harmony – when the apple trees blossom and in snow storms.

Modern architecture in the middle of the Italian mountains
Privacy in the middle of nature: The two residential units, each for up to four guests, are slightly shifted against each other, which ensures the privacy of both parties. The houses face east, with their own garden and access. A maximum of privacy was a priority during construction. Each unit has a kitchen-living room and a bedroom with bathroom. The large roof windows guarantee natural daylight and adequate ventilation. They are located directly above the bed, which ensures that you feel surrounded by mountain nature. Italy is waiting!
