emco Group: spontaneous call becomes a great success

Hand in hand for an important topic: emco employees donate for the Lingener Kinderhospiz, v.l. Heike Plesse (Marketing Communication), Marco Hilbers (2nd Works Council Chairman) Sonja Märsmann (Human Resources), Christian Gnaß (Managing Partner), Dr. Ing. Birgit Stoßberg (1st chairman Lingener Hospice), Jörg Böttcher (1st chairman of the works council) and Dennis Meiners (Employee emco Group)

Lingen, February 2018 – Employees and management of emco Group have donated 1,500 euros for the new children’s hospice in Lingen. Employee Dennis Meiners thought it was a matter of the heart to help those who rely heavily on donations, “I want to support the volunteers who are there for the patients and family at all times to commit oneself to.” explains Dennis Meiners his motivations. So he asked the company if they wanted to donate to the hospice.

Said and done. Management and works council have spontaneously supported the idea. Shortly before Christmas, small money boxes were set up everywhere in the company, where the emco employees could donate for the children’s hospice. The employees of the emco Group thought the campaign was so great that a sizeable amount came together. This was then increased by the management.

Recently the check was handed over. “A super action of our employees, which we gladly support,” says Christian Gnaß, Managing Partner of the emco Group. “Such a fundraiser is always great, it honors our work and helps us to make it even better known. Because we are always looking for volunteers, “says Dr. Birgit Stoßberg, 1st chairman of the Lingen Hospice e. V., about the great action of emco employees.

Background to the children’s hospice Lingen

Just recently, the Lingen hospice opened a children’s hospice base, the first in Emsland. Together with the children’s hospice Löwenherz from Syke and seven hospice associations from the Emsland, the Grafschaft Bentheim and the Osnabrücker Land, they want to intensify the children’s hospice work in the Emsland. The focus of the work is the children’s hospitable accompaniment, support and support of families with a life-shortening or life-threatening ill child or adolescent, child mourning supervision and the accompaniment of children whose parents are seriously ill or dying. Further information about the association can be found on the internet at www.lingen-hospiz.de.
